Greece picks up silver in open-water team race

Greece earned its second medal in the World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona on Thursday when the national open-water team finished second in the team event to claim silver.

Three days after the gold medal in the individual 10-kilometer race by Spyros Gianniotis, he and his teammates, Antonis Fokaidis and Kelly Araouzou covered the distance of five kilometers in 54 minutes and 3.3 seconds, second only to Germany, and ahead of Brazil by just two tenths of a second.

This was the third race for Araouzou, after finishing fourth in both the 5-k and the 10-k individual finals, while indomitable Gianniotis along with Fokaidis will also take part in the 25-km marathon race on Saturday.
