Backs to wall for volleyball team

The Greek men’s volleyball team is this morning playing a must-win game against Cuba in the World Championships taking place in Japan. Greece has lost each of its first three games – to France (3-1), Brazil (3-0) and Germany (3-0) – with disappointing performances. Coach Costas Haritonidis called on his men to keep their heads up since victory today and tomorrow over Australia should see the Greeks through to the last 16. In its matches to date, Greece is lagging, compared to other showings, in defense and blocks as well as in passion, while a team leader is also missing, as ex-skipper Marios Giourdas was not selected.
