Batiste lands Euro award
Mike Batiste, the US power-forward at Panathinaikos, was voted November’s most valuable player in the Euroleague, Europe’s top basketball club competition. The 29-year-old, in his fourth season with the Greek champions and cup-winners, has led Panathinaikos to six wins in as many matches so far in the competition. He scores an average of 15 points per game, along with 7.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and one block in just under 25 minutes per match. He is also his team’s best player in points, rebounds, blocks and two-point percentages. Batiste will collect his MVP of the month award on Thursday, when Panathinaikos hosts Maccabi Tel Aviv for the seventh round of Euroleague group games.
