Easy win for red hoopsters

Olympiakos beat visiting Climamio Bologna 94-67 in a Euroleague Group A basketball game last night to stay within check of leader Tau Ceramica, one win ahead. Earlier last night, Ceramica handed Dynamo Moscow its first-ever home defeat – in domestic and European competition – at its new Krilatskoe Arena to establish an 8-1 record. Olympiakos trails in second place. Panathinaikos, the 24-team Euroleague’s only undefeated side, meets Cimbona in Zagreb tonight. In Greek Cup semifinal action last night involving two teams from the country’s second-tier A2 competition, Kolossos Rhodes beat Rethymno 74-73 in their home-and-away encounter’s first leg. The pair meets again on December 27 for a place in the final against defending champion Panathinaikos, already through after victory over Maroussi. «We played very badly,» said Kolossos Rhodes coach Giorgos Zevgolis. «The only thing we gained from this was that our stadium was packed with fans.»
