Samaras scores win for Manchester City

Greece striker Giorgos Samaras, a lucrative signing for English Premiership club Manchester City this season, has struggled to live up to expectations, but the 21-year-old impressed yesterday, scoring both goals in his team’s 2-1 win over Everton. Samaras, who moved to City from Dutch club Heerenveen in an -8.8 million deal, joined play after halftime and put his side ahead in the 50th minute. He doubled the lead after 72 minutes from the penalty spot. Samaras had not scored in 17 games.
