Greece volleyball coach chooses door

The national men’s volleyball team coach, Costas Charitonidis, has resigned from his post, the sport’s federation announced yesterday. Greece had failed dismally at last November’s World Championships in Japan. The federation had persisted with Charitonidis as the team’s coach despite strong objections. Meanwhile, in domestic competition, defending champion Panathinaikos was drawn against Panellinios in quarterfinal play for the league title on February 28. Earlier that day, Iraklis meets AEK. The next day, PAOK meets Lamia, and Olympiakos plays Patras.
