Larissa takes the cup lead

Larissa took a commanding lead over PAS Yiannina yesterday in the Greek soccer cup’s second semifinal with a 2-0 win in the first leg at home. PAS Yiannina, of the second division, had no answer to the hosts’ attacking play and conceded two goals to Larissa’s international striker from Gabon Henri Antchouet. With 35 minutes gone in the first half, Angelos Digozis crossed from the right into the box, Antchouet controlled the ball with his chest and sent a low flick from a steep angle over the keeper and into the net. Then, six minutes into the second half, Cypriot winger Nektarios Alexandrou sent a pinpoint cross from the left to an unmarked Antchouet who easily headed the ball in.
