New Iraklis chief keeps experienced defender

In his first deal since assuming control of the club’s board on Tuesdayday, Iraklis president Fivos Moridis, a Cypriot entrepreneur, yesterday agreed to extend defender Tasos Katsabis’s contract with the Thessaloniki soccer club for a further two seasons. «I’m very glad to be continuing my career at Iraklis,» said the 34-year-old defender. «I hope this new chapter in the history of Iraklis lives up to the club’s great reputation.» Iraklis narrowly escaped relegation last season after earning a UEFA Cup berth the previous season.
