Xanthi appoints a Belgian manager
Super League soccer team Skoda Xanthi announced yesterday it had hired Belgian manager Emilio Ferrera for the next two years. The 40-year-old with Spanish origins coached Club Brugge from April 2006 to January 2007. Previously he had worked for RRC Brussels, Gent, Lombeek, Beveren, Molenbeek, Lierse and La Louviere. Xanthi hired and fired five managers last season, including Jorn Andersen, who stayed at the club for just over a month between May and June.
