Reds sack Marquez
The home loss to EA Patras on Monday evening has sent shock waves through the Olympiakos volleyball club. The Reds announced yesterday they are ending their contract with Venezuelan opposite Ivan Marquez for a series of disciplinary issues, but insisted they still have faith in coach Anders Christiansen and his other players. The players also issued a statement in support of their coach. EA Patras defeated Olympiakos 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) leaving the Piraeus club at fourth spot in the league.
