2009 World Table Tennis Championships…

Panagiotis Gionis of Greece concentrates on the ball for a serve against Sharath Kamal Achanta of India during their men’s singles third-round match of the 2009 World Table Tennis Championships in Yokohama, Japan, on Friday. Gionis won and reached the fourth round, where he lost four sets to one on Saturday to Michael Maze of Denmark, the number 16 seed. Mighty China, led by world number ones Wang Hao and Zhang Yining, turned the men’s and women’s singles events into a domestic tournament.
