Water polo finals to begin today in Piraeus
The water polo season reaches its climax today with the final series to begin between Olympiakos and Panionios. The teams to finish in the top two spots in regular season play have reached the final and will face each other for Game 1 of the best-of-five series in Piraeus today at 7 p.m. Olympiakos is the favorite to complete the double, having already won the cup by beating Panionios in that final as well. Game 2 is scheduled for Friday in Nea Smyrni with Game 3 to follow on Sunday in Piraeus. Also today sees the start of the third-place playoffs between NE Patras and Vouliagmeni. This series, too, is to be decided in three wins.
