Managerial changes expected at PAS Giannina and Panthrakikos PAS Giannina faced Panthrakikos last Sunday and won 2-1 in Komotini, but today both teams are likely to have new managers. Panthrakikos announced on Tuesday the replacement of French coach Albert Cartier by Pavlos Dermitzakis (the third coach for the club this season), while PAS Giannina is expected to appoint Nikos Anastopoulos to the post temporarily held by Thymios Georgoulis. If Anastopoulos is indeed hired, it will be the fifth time that he has sat on the PAS bench in his career. Lena Daniilidou enters Australian Open Tennis champion Lena Daniilidou today enters the qualifying rounds for the Australian Open in Melbourne. In the first round the Greek player faces Portugal’s Neuza Silva. In an interview on Wednesday, Daniilidou said today’s game will be a very interesting one as Silva is a very good player. She also asked for the support of the local Greek community in Australia. Water polo Olympiakos remained top of the water polo league yesterday following another convincing display. The champions defeated visiting Larissa 14-4 to stay three points ahead of Panionios. The Nea Smyrni club got the better of NO Patron at home with a 12-7 victory. Both Olympiakos and Panionios are involved in Euroleague ties this weekend.
