Ferry services to Greek islands resume as seamen call off strike for holidays
The Panhellenic Seamen’s Union (PNO) said on Wednesday that ferry schedules would return to normal from Thursday as it will not continue its action following a series of rolling strikes.
Seamen, who participated in Wednesday’s general strike, will return to work following “the latest developments,” PNO said, citing the signing of a new collective work contract.
The union indicated that there would be no more walkouts ahead of Orthodox Easter, which falls on April 20, but did not rule out a resumption of action after the holidays.
