PASOK offices attacked again
Security around the central Athens headquarters of PASOK, the junior coalition partner, was beefed up over the long weekend after unidentified assailants hurled firebombs at a riot police unit guarding the offices early on Sunday.
No one was hurt in Sunday’s attack, which however fueled fears of further action in the wake of an assault last month on the same offices by unknown perpetrators wielding an automatic rifle. That attack, which left bullet holes in the windows of PASOK’s headquarters, occurred just a few hours before voting stations opened for European Parliament and local authority elections.
The police’s counterterrorism squad is leading an investigation into the assault.
