Police publish Thessaloniki fraudster’s details
A 49-year-old woman who was arrested last month in Thessaloniki on charges of extorting more than 50,000 euros from elderly victims by posing as a representative of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate was identified on Thursday by police who are seeking more information about illicit activities attributed to her.
The suspect, Nikoleta Lazaropoulou, would visit the homes of elderly people and convince them they had won a church lottery before telling them to hand over their valuables to prove their loyalty to the Church.
