Military staff file injunction against Finance Ministry over ruling ordering payback

The union representing employees of the armed forces on Tuesday filed an injunction against the Finance Ministry, demanding that it honor an order by the Council of State for workers’ salaries to be returned to the level they were at in 2012 and for staff to be reimbursed for lost pay retroactively.

In its injunction, the union complained about the ministry’s “illegal behavior” in failing to reverse the pay reductions, which were imposed as part of troika-imposed cutbacks.

It said it would give the ministry three days to honor the ruling by the country’s highest administrative court or take further legal action.
