IMF executive board gives go-ahead for Greece

The International Monetary Fund's executive board has given the go-ahead for the organization's participation in a third bailout program for Greece, Kathimerini understands. According to sources, the decision was reached on Wednesday.

The move was a first, but necessary step toward a new agreement in view of emergency funding for the cash-strapped country.

Meanwhile, the IMF's new Mission Chief for Greece Delia Velculescu was expected to arrive in Athens on Thursday.
