Britain says no changes in student loan policy for EU nationals

Greek and other EU nationals who receive student loans from Britain’s Student Loans Company (SLC) will continue to do so until they finish their course, the UK’s student loan body has announced.

The same applies to EU students who are set to begin studying in the fall, the SLC added.

The announcement was made following Britain’s recent decision to exit the EU.

Tuition fees for undergraduate studies currently stand at 9,000 pounds sterling for universities in England, 3,810 pounds for universities in Wales and 3,805 pounds for universities in Northern Ireland. Tuition is free in Scotland.

The SLC also announced that EU nationals were now eligible to receive up to 10,000 pounds in loans for post-graduate studies in the UK.

Meanwhile, the Hellenic Colleges Association announced that agreements between Greek colleges and British universities remained unchanged, both in terms of course content and tuition fees.
