Man who killed dog with spade to face trial
A man in Serres, northern Greece, will stand trial for killing his neighbor’s dog with a spade.
According to the dog’s owner, the 66-year-old man repeatedly hit the animal when he saw it on his property.
The accused said he killed the dog because it had targeted his sheep.
Local reports said his property was not fenced or otherwise demarcated, making it easy for the dog to enter.
He appeared before a prosecutor on Tuesday and was set free pending his trial on July 21.
