Suspect questioned over 2.2 kilos of opium paste
An investigating magistrate was Monday questioning a 26-year-old Iranian man who was arrested on the weekend on drug smuggling charges.
Officers were acting on a tip-off when they apprehended the suspect while he was riding in a taxi in Athens and allegedly found 2.2 kilograms of opium paste – one of the key ingredients in heroin – hidden in cardboard cylinders.
