Major increase in international flight passengers last month
The number of passengers using Greek airports in the first 10 months of 2016 rose 9.7 percent from the same period last year to reach 49.3 million, according to data by the Civil Aviation Authority.
The total number of flights increased 4 percent to 419,316, of which 165,118 were domestic (up 1.3 percent from 2015) and 254,198 international (up 5.7 percent).
Passenger traffic in October soared 18.9 percent from October 2015, amounting to 4.69 million, with international flight passengers up 23.8 percent, against a 7.6 percent increase for domestic flight passengers.
