Public transport in Athens will be severely affected by work stoppages as part of protest action timed to coincide with a general strike Wednesday.
Buses will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Trolley buses will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. while the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP) and the Athens metro will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be no service from Doukissis Plakentias metro station to Athens International Airport at all as trains will not be running on the OSE national railway network.
A four-hour work stoppage by air-traffic controllers from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will ground scheduled flights during that time period. Those with plans to travel should contact their airlines for revised times.
There will be no ferry services as seamen join the protest against austerity.
The general strike will also see services at state hospitals disrupted as doctors and nurses launch a 48-hour walkout.
No newspapers will circulate due to a strike by journalists on Tuesday.
