Digital tenders save millions

The digitization of tenders for public contracts has led to savings of up to 10 percent of expenditure for procurements, or 340 million euros in just one year, official data show.

This is an impressive record indeed, given also the fact that these figures do not include the online tenders for public works as it is now that they are beginning to enter the National System of Electronic Public Contracts (ESIDIS).

It is also one of the rare cases since the Greek bailout process started that the state has managed to save money by means other than cuts to pensions and salaries.
