Illegally excavated...

DIMITRIS DAMKALIS/ANA

A clay wine jug decorated with an owl in relief, a bronze statuette of the goddess Aphrodite and a terracotta statuette of the goddess Athena (c, l-r) were among the illegally excavated fourth-century-BC artifacts confiscated yesterday in the hands of antiquities smugglers in northern Greece. Five suspects were arrested in Kavala and Drama.
