Chrysochoidis to be appointed citizens' protection minister
Michalis Chrysochoidis will be appointed Greece's new minister for citizens' protection replacing Christos Papoutsis who last week resigned from the government as he intends to challenge for the leadership of PASOK, Skai radio reported on Monday.
Costis Hatzidakis, a New Democracy MP, is slated to take over the development ministry, Skai said.
The news is to be officially confirmed later in the day.
Papoutsis, who has received strong criticism for the police’s handling of anti-austerity protests, took over from Chrysochoidis last year.
