Police associations request full inquiry into Iraklio chase
Police associations on Crete on Saturday requested a full investigation into a case involving two youths, aged 16 and 19, who sustained serious injuries in Iraklio on Thursday after the motorcycle they were on crashed as they attempted to avoid a police inspection.
According to reports, the teenagers sped away from a police checkpoint and were being chased by a patrol car when the rider lost control of the motorcycle.
A witness subsequently told the police that one of the officers in the squad car had kicked the motorcycle after pulling alongside it, leading it to veer and crash.
