Changes at French, US, British embassies

French Ambassador Bruno Delaye presented his credentials to President Costis Stephanopoulos this week, succeeding Jean-Maurice Ripert who left Athens earlier this month. Jacob Walles, a veteran of Middle East diplomacy, has arrived in Athens as the US Embassy’s deputy chief of mission, replacing Michael Cleverley whose tour has ended. Karen Decker is the embassy’s new political counselor. At the UK Embassy, Tracy Gallagher is the new head of the political and press section, taking over from Francesca Flessati who will remain in Greece as a member of the committee of representatives of seven countries offering advice for the Athens 2004 Olympics.
