World of gifts at the Hellenic Society’s Christmas bazaar

The Hellenic Society for the Protection of the Environment and Cultural Heritage is holding its annual Christmas bazaar at its lovely building at 28 Tripodon, Plaka, today and tomorrow (nearest metro station Acropolis). It is an opportunity to find original gifts and enjoy a pleasant afternoon. At the opening day on Thursday, the society and its founder Costas Karras welcomed many old friends. Meanwhile, a buffet of home cooking is open all day, with the addition of hot chocolate during the day and mulled wine in the evening. Open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the bazaar will be offering organic food products, ceramics, candles, Christmas decorations, sweets, arts and crafts, as well as books on nature and architecture. In the children’s corner, books and toys will be on sale, not to mention the handmade embroidery and jewelry, Indian silks, even furniture and a raffle. So off to Plaka for gifts and socializing below the floodlit ancient wall that has been incorporated into the structure of the building.
