Breaking open the piggy bank for Woody Allen

He’s been making us laugh for years with his humor, his view of people and situations in our lives. At the age of 70, film director Woody Allen is coming to Athens tonight in his capacity as clarinetist for a single performance at the Athens Concert Hall with the New Orleans Jazz Band. The tickets (300, 350 and 150 euros) are sold out. Allen comes to us with his wife and their children, his sister Letti and some close friends. Three Oscars, nine Golden Globes, 20 Oscar nominations – there is only one Woody Allen! Part of the proceeds of the concert will go toward helping young Dimitris Tsakiridis, who is blind and without means, continue his music studies abroad, according to the president of the non-profit organization ANEMIS, Marianna Vildiridi-Hatzitoliou. Tsakiridis is a music student at the University of Macedonia.
