The worlds of theater and cinema meet for a screening and a discussion at the Trianon

Thomas Vinterberg’s «Festen» provides an opportunity for a meeting between the Greek National Theater and the Greek Film Center. The free-admission event is scheduled to take place at the Trianon Filmcenter on Monday at 8 p.m. The event is part of a series of screenings of films whose stage adaptations are part of the theater company’s repertory this season. The screening of «Festen» coincides with the Greek stage debut of Joakim Pirinen’s «The Good Family.» «Festen» was the first feature film based on the filmmaking movement known as Dogma 95 to earn awards at festivals around the world, including the Jury Prize at Cannes in 1998. Following Monday’s screening, a discussion will focus on interaction between theater and cinema. Participating in the discussion will be directors, actors and film critics.
