Local electronica expert embarks on series of shows

Rehearsals have been under way since September and many fans of good electronica have been eagerly waiting since. Starting tonight, the Stavros tou Notou music venue will host Constantinos Vita, who is scheduled to perform twice a week for a few weeks. The restless artist, one of the major representatives of the Greek electronica scene, has succeeded in developing a very personal and distinctive style. In 1992, he co-founded the pioneering local electronica act Stereo Nova. Following its breakup, Vita became even more active, releasing numerous albums and writing music for cinema, theater and dance performances, always further developing his style and maintaining a high level of quality. At the Stavros tou Notou (37 Tharypou & Frantzi, Neos Cosmos, tel 210.922.6975), Vita will be joined by Handy Park, a rock band that has been formed especially for these shows. The act consists of musicians from various local alternative bands, such as GAD and Elica. Concerts will be divided in two parts: The first will be dedicated to electronica, while the second will feature sets with Handy Park. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy compositions from all of Vita’s albums. Shows take place every Monday and Tuesday at the Stavros tou Notou main stage, until February 17.
