Kalamata Dance Festival | Kalamata | July 17-24

The 21st edition of the Kalamata International Dance Festival takes place in the Peloponnesian port city from Friday, July 17, to Thursday, July 24. This year’s program includes international names such as Su Wen-Chi in “Off the Map,” Igor Urzelai and Moreno Solinas in “Idiot-Syncrasy,” and Dada Masilo in “Carmen,” local dancer-choreographers Medie Megas in “Transforming Me: A Bilingual Solo” and Euripides Laskaridis in “Relic,” as well as Rootless Root, founded by Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Frucek in 2006, performing “W Memorabilia.” Performances take place at the city’s Castle Amphitheater, the Kalamata Dance Hall, the Municipal Regional Theater, Municipal Cultural Center and National Stadium, among other venues.
