In Mute Festival | Athens | To November 1

The Onassis Cultural Center in Athens presents the third edition of the In Mute Festival, which explores the uncharted space between film and recent innovative trends in sound art and the international experimental music scene. The event includes appearances by British avant-garde filmmaker Greg Pope and American film experimentalist Paul Clipson, who are presenting live short films especially prepared for projection with live music, as well as Greek artists presenting their own take on the subject of “sound and the moving image.” Also on the festival’s agenda are screenings of masterpieces of the silent movie era, including F.W. Murnau’s 1927 “Sunrise” and Germaine Dulac’s 1928 “La Coquille et le Clergyman.”
