Most 2016 hirings seen in sales, IT and marketing

The domains of sales, information technologies and marketing/communications are expected to see the most hirings planned in Greece within 2016, Randstad’s annual survey on human resource and salary trends has shown.

The survey questioned 340 decision-making officials in various sectors in Greece between November 2015 and February 2016 and showed that over 80 percent of participating companies were affected by the economic situation in 2015.

It also identified potential economic recovery signs as most companies said they were planning to hire staff within the year: The reasons given were the need seen for new skills and promoting new products. The majority of new hirings were expected to be made by sales departments.

The new challenges in the HR sector for 2016 concern the increase in efficiency and productivity, drawing talent toward the next stage of corporate expansion, the creation of a good work environments and the preservation of the most productive employees.

Such is the widespread need for new skills that just 15 percent of respondents said their companies would not require them this year. The majority of enterprises said they would cover this need with measures such as salary raises and training programs, so as to maintain and attract talent.
