ATHEX: Lucky 13th for local bourse

The benchmark of the Greek bourse ended higher for a 13th consecutive session on Thursday, but sales recorded during the closing auctions suggested its rising streak is coming to an end.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 797.16 points, adding 0.66 percent to Wednesday’s 791.97 points.

The large-cap FTSE 25 index expanded 0.56 percent to 2,119.86 points, assisted by banks, which gained 1.65 percent.

In total 59 stocks advanced, 56 declined and 18 stayed put.

Turnover amounted to 134.1 million euros, up from Wednesday’s 128.2 million.

The general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange in Nicosia rose 1.15 percent to 77.57 points.
