Week closes with new losses

The decline in international markets and the sharp fluctuations in investor sentiment yesterday led to a drop in stock prices on the local bourse. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index dropped by 0.64 percent to 1,851.62 points, although mid-caps remained afloat, with their FTSE/ASE 40 index gaining 0.03 percent. Blue chips had a rather disappointing day, as the only ones to register gains were Intralot (up 1.60 percent), Coca-Cola HBC (1.52 percent), Viohalco (1.05 percent), OTE telecom (0.75 percent) and Motor Oil (0.47 percent). The biggest losses were for the stocks of Marfin Popular Bank (3.49 percent), Marfin Investment Bank (2.49 percent) and Public Power Corporation (3.32 percent). Turnover reached 173.2 million euros.
