Shares dip on soft blue chips

Greek stocks eased 0.50 percent, as losses in blue chips offset mild gains in small-cap and mid-cap shares. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index ended at 2,648.05 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index eased 0.51 percent to 1,407.42 points. Coca-Cola Hellenic fell 3.24 percent to 17.60 euros and betting company OPAP lost 2.95 percent, ending at 17.10 euros. Banks also retreated, with EFG Eurobank giving up 2.23 percent to 10.51 euros, while peer Piraeus slipped 2.53 percent to 12.35 euros. The mid-cap FTSE/ATHEX 40 and small-cap FTSE/ATHEX 80 indices showed gains of 0.49 percent and 0.45 percent respectively. Turnover was 228.8 million euros versus 311.6 million in the previous session.
