32 business groups eye US market

The American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (AHCC) will coordinate 32 Greek business groups and oversee efforts aimed at boosting ties between the two countries, it said yesterday. Titled the American Hellenic Enterprise Initiative 2010, the program will aim at boosting investments in trade, tourism, investment, transport, ecological energy solutions and research and development. «The initiative, which focuses on the challenges of our times, will provide an important opportunity for a new generation of Greek and Hellenic businesses to take advantage of transatlantic opportunities,» AHCC said in a statement. Among the Greek business groups that have signed the agreement are the Athens and Thessaloniki chambers of commerce, the Panhellenic Exporters Association and the Greek National Tourism Organization. Further details are expected to be announced at a press conference in Athens tomorrow.
