A helping hand from a German NGO
Metropolitan Bishop Chrysostomos blesses the engine of an ambulance donated by a German organization, on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos, on Wednesday. The ambulance was handed over to the Northern Aegean Regional Authority by Cologne-based Malteser International, a nongovernmental relief agency which is one of dozens of bodies helping the Greek islands manage the massive influx of migrants and refugees from Turkey.
