Police launch investigation after detainee escapes from hospital

Police in Thessaloniki have launched an investigation after a man they had detained managed to escape from a hospital where he had been taken for treatment.
The man, a Georgian national, had been detained after failing to produce the relevant immigration papers.
He escaped the attention of police while being treated at Papageorgiou hospital.
