Aftershocks continue to rattle eastern Crete

A new earthquake shook villages in eastern Crete hit on Tuesday evening with the Athens Geodynamic Institute giving a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale.

The quake had the same epicentre as the bigger tremor that killed one person, injured dozens and destroyed old houses and buildings on Monday — the village of Arkalochori.

The focal depth is estimated at 14.5 kilometers.
