Beleri case referred to trial

The Fredi Beleri case was finally referred to trial on Thursday. The date for the trial is not yet set. Until then, the elected mayor of the predominantly ethnic-Greek city of Himare will remain in custody, where he has been since May.

The decision was taken on Thursday by the Special Court Against Corruption in Tirana, where Beleri had appealed with a request to lift his pre-trial detention.

It is reminded that Beleri will be visited in prison on Friday by Greek Citizen Protection Minister Giannis Oikonomou, who is in Albania to participate in the Berlin Process conference.
