ISAP route up and running again

The route of the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP) was operating in its entirety on Tuesday for the first time since July 2010 as extensive renovation and engineering works on the network have finally concluded.

The only current disruption is that Kifissia-bound trains will not be stopping at Monastiraki station and commuters might be obliged to change trains at Omonia station.

The north-bound platform of Monastiraki station has been closed pending the outcome of an appeal by a citizens? group against the covering up of antiquities unearthed during renovation works on the tracks.

The citizens’ appeal is to be heard on August 2.
