Bomb hoax on passenger ferry

Passengers on the Diagoras ferry boat experienced a lengthy delay to their journey on Friday, as police investigated a bomb scare.

The Diagoras, which was scheduled to depart from Piraeus port at 4 p.m., was prevented from setting sail after an anonymous phone call to the police warned that there was a bomb on board.

The 1,468 passengers were directed to disembark while bomb squad experts searched the ship.

No explosives were found, and investigators confirmed that the call was a hoax.
