UNHCR appeals to police after racist attacks
The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Greece has called on the police to take greater steps to tackle racist violence after the secretary of the Sudanese community in Athens, Adam Ziad, was attacked by five people while on his work in the southern suburb of Kallithea.
?This incident is one of too many in a series of criminal attacks against foreigners, including refugees and asylum seekers, on the sole grounds of the victims? color or country of origin,? the UNHCR said in a statement.
