DUI driver kills woman, injures grandson
A 59-year-old woman was killed and her 4-year-old grandson was seriously injured on Friday after a 49-year-old motorist lost control of his vehicle and hit the pair on a country road in the village of Aghia Eleousa near Halkida, north of Athens.
The boy was transferred to the capital?s Aghia Sofia children?s hospital for special treatment.
According to police, the man had been driving under the influence of alcohol and had had his license revoked earlier this month for a series of offenses.
