Teens arrested over muggings, robberies

Attica police on Thursday arrested two separate groups of teenagers on charges that they were behind a string of muggings on elderly people and taxi drivers, according to reports.

The first gang — comprising two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old — were arrested in Keratsini, western Piraeus, after allegedly robbing two cars from a company garage in the area. They are also believed to be behind the muggings of at least three elderly people.

Meanwhile, in Nea Ionia, northern Athens, police were questioning two Albanian youths, both aged 17, over three armed robberies committed against taxi drivers, the most recent of which was carried out on Wednesday.
