Children’s cardiac surgery unit to close
The cardiac surgery unit of the capital?s Aghia Sophia Children?s Hospital is being suspended temporarily, Skai reported on Tuesday, noting that 36 infants and children are currently awaiting surgery there.
According to the hospital?s management, the aim of the closure is to upgrade the ?dysfunctional? unit.
In the meantime, all patients awaiting surgery will be sent to the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, the Health Ministry said.
