Jogging academic hit by car

The former rector of Thessaloniki?s Aristotle University, Ioannis Antonopoulos, died Sunday after being hit by a car at a central junction in the northern port city.

The car, which was being driven by a 24-year-old motorist, hit Antonopoulos while he had been jogging early Sunday morning.

It appears that the 24-year-old lost control of his vehicle. He was being questioned Sunday by police.
